9 Random iPhone/iPod Touch Apps (…that I like…)

This is just an Uber Quick list of apps that I have and really like. This is not a full review but more of a list to provide some things for fellow iPhone/iPod Touch users to look in to. Some are free, others cheap, the rest not. Some of these “expensive ones” have free versions but the reason I listed the non-free version is because of what it offers above the free version.

Wave Writer - $0.99

Wave Writer is convenient way of getting a typed across a large distance. It has a scrolling banner that matches the speed and direction of the iphone or ipod touch as you wave. It takes a bit of practice to get it just right but it is pretty cool and has multiple applications.

CardStar - FREE

This is a great little free app. All you do is enter the numbers under the barcode of your membership cards (like Albertsons, Smiths, or whatever) and it generates the barcode for you. So, the next time you need it you just pull up the card and hand it over to the clerk..

Jaadu VNC - $24.99

This is by far the best remote desktop application. I’ve used it to control Powerpoints or just access some files from home when my laptop was at work. You can set it up over a local network and over the internet at large. They have a great tutorial to show you how to set it up (which does take some work). It’s compatible with your Mac or PC.

AirMote - $3.99 (Mac Only)

Set up over your wireless network, this is one of the most versatile remote controls with different button layouts for different application and the ability to customize almost everything.

Dictionary.com - FREE

This is the best all in one dictionary and thesaurus. As you type in your word, it’ll provide its closest guess (which is nice if you’re not sure how to spell it). What I’ve most appreciated about this app is that they update it fairly regularly.

Things - $9.99

My favorite To-Do list application ever. It is simple but well organized. You can break things into projects and sync it with a desktop application.

Starmap Pro - $18.99

If you like star gazing, you need this app. The depth and scope of this app is simply amazing. It provides a screen shot of the night sky so you can easily locate stars and planets. It can use your current location to adjust its screenshots.

PhotoKeys - $3.99

With a little application on your computer you can have 8 full customizable hot keys and 20 editing shortcuts for your Photoshop pleasures. This can be a great time saver.

Quickoffice Mobile - $19.99

Easily read and edit Microsoft Office Word and Excel documents. It has several different options for getting them off and on your iPhone. You can receive them, download them, edit them, and send them. Worth checking out.
